Flagler County Commissioner Charles F. Ericksen, Jr. - Board Member
Charles Ericksen Jr. serves on the Flagler County Commission representing District 1. District 1 is an area in Palm Coast roughly west of Belle Terre Parkway from S.R. 100 to Palm Coast Parkway. Prior to his election in 2012 he was involved in several community organizations and regularly attended Palm Coast City Council and Flagler County Commission meetings.
He currently serves as a trustee member of the Flagler County Chamber of Commerce, as Board Secretary for the Teens-N-Flight organization, Board member of the Precious Hearts Foundation of Palm Coast and a volunteer at the Cold Weather Shelter.
Commissioner Ericksen was born in Hartford, Connecticut and has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from the University of Connecticut. He served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1972 attaining the rank of 1st Lieutenant.
He had a distinguished career in the business world with various Healthcare Corporations. From 1991 to 1997 served as Vice President of U.S. Healthcare responsible for all self funded operations in the United States. In 1998 he retired and moved to Florida and began a career as a designer and sales person and in 2003 was awarded the top sales person designation in the state for an upscale kitchen and bath cabinetry company.
In 2004 he retired again and spent two years in Guadelajara, Mexico traveling before moving to Palm Coast in 2006.
As Flagler County Commissioner for District 1, Commissioner Ericksen serves at the Commission’s representative on the Affordable Housing Committee, Princess Place Preserve Advisory Board, and the Disadvantaged Transportation Governance Board.
Commissioner Ericksen enjoys Flagler County’s trail network and is an avid bicycle enthusiast.
